So, it is a choice, after all. One guy’s true story of self-discovery . Is it a choice? My title is an obvious play on the often hotly debated socio- religious question, “Is coming out gay a function of predetermined biology (e.g., some DNA factor) or merely a function of one’s lifestyle choice?” Let me level with you: what you are about to read will neither prove nor disprove either of these viewpoints. But what I do argue for ––– in this my own true and improbable story of self-discov- ery ––– is that, in fact, there is a choice to be made by every guy, regardless of his age or family situation, who musters the courage to come out and live as a gay male.
