Jacob’s Pillow, “the dance center of the nation” (New York Times) welcomes LGBTQ individuals, couples, and families throughout the Festival, and especially during its annual Weekend OUT, which will take place August 8-10 and is sponsored by this magazine. The packed schedule of talks, performances, and events include: a performance of Stardust by REALITY, choreographed by David Roussève; a special tour about Ted Shawn and his Men Dancers; and a Sunday brunch celebrating the end of the festivities and The Review‘s 20th anniversary.
The David Roussève/REALITY ensemble explores the world of a young, gay, African-American man through arresting choreography, video, and original music by hip-hop fusion composer d. Sabela grimes and classic songs by Ella Fitzgerald and Nat King Cole. David Roussève is also profiled in the July-Aug 2014 issue of The Review, so stay tuned.
